Lullaby (Old Ideas, 2012)

Sleep baby sleep The day’s on the run The wind in the trees Is talking in tongues
If your heart is torn I don’t wonder why If the night is long Here’s my lullaby
Well the mouse ate the crumb Then the cat ate the crust Now they’ve fallen in love They’re talking in tongues
If your heart is torn I don’t wonder why If the night is long Here’s my lullaby
Sleep baby sleep There’s a morning to come The wind in the trees they’re talking in tongues
If your heart is torn I don’t wonder why If the night is long Here’s my lullaby
Here's my lullaby

According to press release from Sony, this song was recorded in 2007. In 2009, new version of the song was performed on Cohen's world tour in few occasions, with completely different lyrics (melody and the chorus remained the same). That version's lyrics were published in Leonard Cohen's 2011 book Poems and Songs (Everyman's Library). That version can be read/heard on Roman Gavrilin's website CurrentCohen.com > http://old.currentcohen.com/lullaby
